No one can create something as beautiful as a flower from only dust and water, except God Himself, and with that came the privilege to care and tend it.
​
Genesis 2:15 - The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.
​
With that ​​​​in mind we began our Yard Ministry as a way of connecting with our community, through the care and cultivation of a yard that would display God's love and care for His creation. God draws us to worship him through the beauty of nature. He brings us joy with the rainbow colors and unique fragrances.
​
A flower garden does not simply appear out of nowhere full of beautiful, healthy flowers; any more than our spiritual lives suddenly produce the virtues, characteristics and traits that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ has called us to develop in our lives. But we must also remember that when a flower garden is left unattended, weeds will stunt the growth of healthy plants. Just as we weed in our flower gardens, we too can pull up the weeds that grow in our spiritual gardens. Further, we must seek the Lord’s direction and guidance as to what we are to plant there and be willing to tend to it with complete diligence. We can experience this same thing in our spiritual lives if we’re not diligent in our care and maintenance. If we’re not careful many things will invade and or grow up within it to strangle and destroy the virtues and characteristics that our Lord wants to grow within us.

Take some time to view our flower garden and praise God for his glorious handiwork. Pause to remember only God can create something so beautiful from nothing. Thank Him for surrounding you with beauty as a means to draw you to himself. Let a moment in our flower garden refresh you with rest, peace, and a greater sense of God’s love for you, His masterpiece of creation, far more beautiful than any flower. May His peace be with you!
